Subway is New York

homeless people in the subway
they dont ask for money
they are the most quiet passengers
they just sit, and always sleep
their nasty luggages, smelly themselves keep people away
they are those who are most familiar with the city the subway
but they are strangers to all other people
under the blanket, they dont have faces
i dont know where are they going
what does holiday means to them?
do they go take a look to the big Xmas tree in Rockefeller center?
-- they lost sight
in which point of their life
they start their journey
like those rats in the subway?

X'mas statement

artist's mental life is not easy
so take it easy

artist's daily life is simple
so make difficult work

artist's love is tragic
so forget it whenever u can
but not for holidays :> ...

Bamboo Blues -- by Pina Bausch

A rake in one hand

I draw a flowerbed

to draw is to think how to draw

counting all the possibilities

http://cally.wordpress.com/2008/12/04/from-sound-to-images/

David Byrne & Brian Eno
My Big Nurse

When the lake's on fire
With all the world's desires
When he shakes the stars above
When we lose the ones we love
When the seasons lose their grip

When the tightrope walker slips
I'm counting all the possibilities

When the past becomes the now

When the lost becomes the found
When we fall in love with war
When the angel fucks the whore
When the road we travel on

Takes us back where we came from
A million kinds of possibilities

For dancing on this lazy afternoon

In the comfort of the world

In the arms of my big nurse
From the science of the heart
To each animal and plant
Compact, relaxed- intact, give thanks
I'm counting all the possibilities

For dancing on this lazy afternoon

On Sunday(s), nothing to confess / Still Life

an exhibition of Giorgio Morandi, 1890–1964
in Metropolitan Museum of Art

sunday is good day to visit friend, hang out with friends
eat and talk, and eat and talk.... then work (maybe)
and read the past friday 'new york times'
(well, i am slow in reading, so one-day newspaper - i take three days to read...)

i am always behind...

though it is cold
but knowing friends are doing well
- the love ones getting together / getting married

i feel good

sunday
- always a day to have clear mind
it is the first day of a week, but always i feel it is the last day of a week
then whenever i look back the last week
- if it is clam, no fight, no argue, peaceful, and
to be inspired by someone or something
or give inspiration to someone

then, even getting one week older
it is fine

esp in these weeks, i learn that
i get rid of a strong desire for possession
- possess of someone or something

i get rid of being too rely on anyone or anything

- thanks for C's music, N' support.
and all those who love me, or once loved me

sunday morning - trees in the heart

this sunday morning, bad weather

if i cannot see sunshine in the morning(s)
i think about the good time with u
if it is raining in the morning(s)
i think about your sincerity
if it is cold in the winter morning(s)
i think about the clamness when u are writing

even it is cold everyday
i freeze
i am not afraid
--- i find peace

"i cant actually....tell a story, in fact i am almost unable even to speak; when i try to tell it, i usually feel the way small children might when they try to take their first steps"

--- a quote from performance, Kafka Fragments. (The Literary Muse)

11/14/2008

maybe

i know i have to keep talking and talking through these pictures.
- in that sense, i am not a quiet person

though i don't know what i am going to say
maybe a lots. maybe nothing. maybe one sentence is enough
maybe a single word has already too much
maybe a language. maybe native one. maybe foreign one.
maybe a single grammatical error made can ruin everything
maybe thousands of vocabularies cannot be fit into to a particular moment of our conservation

what you/I want is very simple, indeed

Haruki Murakami in one of his prose, mentioned about squarrels -
they seems, have the whole life - just doing two things - running away from people and eating nuts

i imagine, if i also just doing two things in my whole life -- running away from people and doing art.... :>

but squarrels in nyc are different. they dont scare people at all

_____

those i saw in Union Square and around my apartment, they dont really hide

esp. this one (maybe not the same one, they look the same...) is used to come up to my window in the freezing rainy day. waiting for nuts.

The Literary Muse and BAM

The Waves - Virginia Woolf

The Duke Theatre http://duke.new42.org/events.cfm

the waves --- push and pull, up and down, appear and disappear, exhale an inhale..
u never being as youself speaking your own words
words from ones' mind, speak through the others' mouth

u are just a reflective image on mirror
happenings from ones' body, but sound generated by others

u are just the picture seen from a long distance

but after all, where is the writer? where is the writing, the wavy mind and body, her voice?
-- behind the conclusive backgroud projection (a video) of all the real time acting, reading, site-setting, sound-making and camcordering, i miss the writer.

-- a very sophisticated performance in terms of the skills and technical manipulation. But as a whole, it doesnt really grab u into the deep soul of The Waves.
